RECENT PROGRESS IN MEDICINAL PLANTS, VOLUME 28: DRUG PLANTS II

The medicinal properties of plants have been valued by every culture and civilization in the world. The volume focuses on the botany, phyto-chemcial compostion, medicinal uses along with pharmacological properties, of around 50 plants. Simultaneously, an attempt has been made to summarize the cellular and molecular mechanisms of the therapeutic actions of the herbs and introduced the major active chemical ingredients in relation to therapeutic values. Majority of biologically active plant principles reported in the volume are alkaloids, followed by sesquiterpenes, diterpenes, triterpene saponins, triterpene aglycones, flavonoids, sterols, coumarins, quinones and monoterpenes.
